Some argue that sonnets are overdone One such person would not, of course, be I No: I believe that sonnets are quite fun Now I, of course, acknowledge the supply Exceeds the generational demand That Shakespeare bloke wrote hundred fifty four So many: far too many to withstand And so to study them can be a bore Read one or two and take a little break: Engage with something other than his words Now go back; soon you’ll realize your mistake Eject the thought that sonnets are for nerds And if still “sonnets suck” you wish to whine Turn to the starting letter of each line
