Cycles

The newborn babe has gained its sight
The soldier draws his blades
The cloaked fellow hunts their prey
Two houses cause each other shame
All watched by the pale green earth
As the cycles continue

The child endures its first ever plight
Swords bathe for a crimson shade
He found it! Where the target stays
Fell thoughts haunt the wealthy names
All watched by the green earth
As the cycles continue

The teen struggles through an inner fight
The cries of pointless battles fade
Memories of loved ones slain
The houses’ plots are both the same
All watched by the dark green earth
As the cycles continue

The young man finds his life’s light
The price for war: a soul, is paid
The husk of vengeance enters the fray
Each house sets out for “rightful claim”
All watched by the yellow earth
As the cycles continue

The man first knows age’s slight
The blood soaked dreams will never fade
In Karma, there cannot be delay
The houses sabotage each other’s game
All watched by the pale brown earth
As the cycles continue

The old man sees only night
New flesh, far war is made
From righteousness, a victim strays
For other people, a famine came
All watched by the wheezing earth
As the cycles continue

The skin bag feels a mortal fright
The child now picks up the blade
Once the predator, now the prey
For many deaths, the houses are to blame
All watched by the gasping earth
As the cycles continue

The man has finally left the light
The child lies bloody and afraid
A new husk has joined the fray
A dream shows the houses’ heads on a frame
All watched by a dying earth
As the cycles continue

The reaper has touched most with his blight
A sea of blood from the worst game played
Retaliation takes those who stay
Rage has shown that no man is tame
All takes place on a dead earth
As the cycles continue

A new babe is bathed in light
Cradled in a brand new glade
Protect him, the mother prays
From vengeance, hatred, violence, shame
All watched by a brand new earth
As life continues
