Alone

By Keegan Eller

The moon shines,

The sun blinds.

The wind blows,

Cold as snow.

A smile fake,

Work of art.

The dawn breaks,

Like my heart.

To have all,

But have none.

To stand tall,

Until you’re done.

While you slept,

Alone I wept.

All the peace,

Yet none for me.

And I alone

Know what I seek.

To have a home,

One unique.

Search goes on

Until I find

Where I belong,

Although, I’m blind.

It’s what I crave

From yesterday.

Went by too fast

And did not last.

It’s not a place,

But what I feel.

Your embrace,

It’s not here.
